Additional info   It was getting dark fast (ironically, as in most of my better pictures)
so I had to use my SB-28 for fill flash. This beautiful Wood Duck did
not go to Mexico to winter. A threatened North American species by

the turn of the 19th century into the 20th, they are now a very well
protected species. Their multi-colored breeding plumage is unexcelled
among ducks as far as I know. Their scientific name means "waterbird
in bridal dress", worn from October through June by the male or drake.
